Mahwah is a township in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township’s population was 25,890.

Originally, the Lenape and ancestral peoples were indigenous to the area. Over time, the decendents of the Lenape combined with other Native Americans and ethnicities to form the Ramapough Mountain Indians. The tribe is officially recognized by the state of New Jersey, but has not been federally recognized.

In 1901, a 75 room mansion was built for George Crocker who was the son of the railroad magnate Charles Crocker. Crocker Mansion is one of New Jersey’s historical landmarks.*

Deck Re-Finishing in Mahwah

If your wood deck or patio has become faded or is looking drab, it won’t be long before you start to notice damage to the wood. When the wood has become unsealed against the weather, it starts to rot and split. Nails will start to come loose, the wood dries out, and cracks form that can completely destroy the wood.

Re-sealing the wood is important if you don’t want to have to replace your deck any time soon. Your deck can be painted or stained and sealed. Either way, the surface of the wood will need to be restored first, with any damage being repaired. Once the repairs are made and specific areas are silicone sealed, you’ll need the entire deck resealed. Some people prefer to see the wood in a natural state, so staining and sealing will be done. Otherwise you can have your deck painted with a long-lasting paint meant for decks and exterior high traffic areas.
